Margot has been a lifelong student of nutrition, and has been a vegetarian for ethical reasons for 16 years. When the shift toward a whole foods, plant based diet was also the answer in eliminating a lifelong battle with asthma and allergies. This recovery left Margot wanting for more information, and she found the Plant Based Nutrition Certification Program at Cornell University. Through her careers as a Massage Therapist and high school teacher, she could not deny the gap in our health and education systems when it came to understanding nutrition. While teaching it was obvious to her that students today suffer more from nutritionally related illness than ever before, impacting their ability to concentrate and therefore learn.
Dietary and lifestyle choices are the largest contributing factor to our current health crisis. Further, the standard Western Diet is the largest contributing factor to green house gas emissions, and animals raised for food are exempt from all laws in place to protect animals… these factors in combination with Margot’s passion for helping people to heal set the stage for something new…and so, Taiga Whole Health was born.
